Did you know that love is not a “what” according to the bible but actually a “who”? And no, I’m not talking about Cindy Lou Who!!

1 John 4:7-21 explains this in detail but for today, we are going to concentrate on the first two verses; seven and eight: “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.“

Two things stand out to me here: “…love comes from God.” and “…because God is love.”

Are you feeling lonely this Valentine’s Day? There is someone who loves you more than any human ever possibly could. In fact, He already died for you whether you accept that gift or not.

So here is a rose – a reminder that He says you are His beloved.
